Details of changes in V1.2 of My Music Quiz
- The new Score tracking feature is user selectable, and can be enabled in the options menu.
When enabled, scoring will be done after each question.
When the question is first played there will be a certain number of points available (default 10, but can be changed in options menu). If you're confident you know the answer you can make a guess at this point and get the 10 points if you're correct. To record the fact you're making a guess, just click your team/player name button with the mouse, or press the number of your team. The quiz will now display "Guessed for 10 points" beside your name, if you're not sure you can click it again to remove your guess. You can either write your guess down to check later, or just keep it in your head if you trust everybody else to do the same, just don't shout it out yet, or you'll give the others the answer too.
At this point the other players who haven't guessed yet, have to decide which option to use to hear it again and possibly make it simpler, such as "Play Again" or "Play Longer", each of the buttons will reduce the available points, the more help the button gives, the more points are deducted.
Once the sample has been played again, the person who previously guessed can no longer change their answer.
The players who haven't guessed yet can now make a guess, or decide to use another button to help them more, this continues until everybody has guessed or there are no points available.
At this point press the confirm scores button and the answer will be revealed, the quiz assumes everybody got it right and displays the points that will be added to each players total, if a player got it wrong just click their button or press their number to remove their points.
The new "Enter Teams menu" is used to enter the team names displayed during the quiz.
When using Score tracking, team names will be displayed while playing the quiz. These names should be entered before you begin playing by selecting the "enter teams" menu, enter the names of up to four players or teams, and then hit the save button.
The new "Give a Clue" button will automatically assign the score.
When pressed a choice of four possible answers is displayed, 3 incorrect, 1 correct. Team/player buttons are displayed for everybody who has not already made a guess, just hit your team button then ABC or D to make your guess, The ABC or D will be added to your button to remind you what you guessed. If you're still not sure you can still use the other buttons such as "Play Longer" to hear it again, assuming there are enough points still available.
Teams guessing in "Give a Clue" don't have to bother checking their answers, since the quiz knows the correct answer and their guess, so no sneaky changing your mind when the correct answer is displayed, those answers can't be changed, however if you didn't make a guess during "Give a Clue" then you still need to own up and click your button if you guessed wrong.
"Give a Clue" gives by far the most help, so we deduct 4 points when it's used, if you want to score highly you should try to guess before it's used.
Improved Vista Colour Scheme With Version 1.1 running under Vista, the colours in the game were incorrect, often just a plain white background. This has been fixed in V1.2 and Vista now has the same rich colour scheme as XP.
